Preparing for Chem Show 2017: The Exhibit You Won’t See

On October 31 - November 2, the 2017 Chem Show is coming to Javits Center in New York City. With over 5,000 industry professionals and over 300 exhibiting companies, this massive event is held every other year and specializes in bringing professionals hundreds of new products and solutions to optimize chemical process operations. If you haven’t already gotten your ticket, the time is now.

About the Chem Show & Exhibitors

2017-chem-show.pngHeld every other year since 1915, the Chem Show provides engineers, plant managers and other CPI personnel the opportunity to come together and network. Attendees are able to see the latest equipment and technology hitting the market, are able to meet product experts, and are provided the opportunity to discover new ways to optimize their chemical plant’s operation.

The Chem Show is known for helping the CPI meet ongoing demands for faster, smarter, cleaner and more efficient chemical processing facilities.

Of the more than 300 exhibiting companies attending, the following product and service categories will be met according to the 2017 Chem Show website:

  • Automation
  • Corrosion Control
  • Engineered Materials
  • Filtration & Separation
  • Fluid Flow
  • Hazardous Materials Handling
  • Heating, Cooling & Drying
  • Maintenance & Plant Safety
  • Mixing & Blending
  • Pollution Control
  • Powder & Solids Handling
  • Process Control

Missing from Chem Show: DLC Technology

dlc-coating-industrial-hard-carbon.jpg2017 Chem Show attendees are going to get more than their fill’s worth of information to bring back to their companies. However, one industry changing technology that will not be broadcast at this trade show is DLC technology.

DLC, or diamond-like carbon coating, is an amorphous matrix of layers of nano-crystalline diamond and nano-crystalline silicon carbide. Its unique properties can only  be surpassed by pure diamond and it has a strong track record of performing better than any other thin film coating on the market.

By coating chemical production machinery is DLC, the production process is enhanced to run more efficiently with less unscheduled downtime, less product loss and less cleanup.

DLC has high lubricity, has high hardness, offers corrosion resistance, has an extreme wear rate, and operates at extreme temperatures. It protects the parts from corroding in processes such as pumping and mixing, and it protects machine parts from wear caused by high temperatures and aggressive formulations. Plus, it’s high lubricity enables a clean release from product molds, pins and associated parts resulting in less production rejection.

All in all, diamond-like carbon coatings are revolutionizing the chemical industry.
